As a lifelong MX-5 owner and motorsport engineer, I couldn't find a wheel on the market that fits my ND perfectly in terms of design, weight and quality, so I built my own.
After 2 years of intensive development – involving hundreds of design iterations, simulations, and industrial durability and road testing – the downright JP-D1 was born.
The exclusive design reflects the philosophy of downright Wheels: simplicity, robustness and ultra-lightweight. The weight reduction of over 30% from the original wheel significantly enhances agility and response. While the legacy establishments on the market will barely fight for that last 20g, I will.
Designed as a complete genuine replacement, the downright JP-D1 seamlessly integrates all genuine parts like TPMS, cap and lug nuts – take it easy and forget about the wheel spacer, center ring, dashboard alarm and collision risk with genuine Brembo calipers. Additionally you can save over 100$ each by reusing those proven genuine parts, bringing the starting price down to just 300$ each and making the downright wheel one of the most affordable forged options on the market.
Both offsets of ET38 and ET30 are available with proven records on scottish and austrian mountain roads for optimum balance between suspension geometry and exotic styling.
